We can let in the morning sun but block out afternoon heat depending on where we have them open. I wasn't sure I would like that addition but I'm very happy with the purchase.

Very happy with my purchase and I love the blackout feature. I work nights and sleep days, so having my room dark during the day was my biggest priority.
- 06/12/2017After a year the glue started to come apart. Even though customer service said that it doesn't happen that often and replaced the blinds right away i was a little disappointed that I had to mess with it at all.

I guess I didn't read the part about them helping to block the heat, too, but that was a great surprise since I haven't had to turn my air conditioner down really low for a while!
