When ordering an outside mount shutter you need to add overlap to your window opening to mount your shutter. For the Beaded L Frame the recommended overlap is 2" per side. Example if your opening is 30" W x 40" H we recommend ordering your shutter 34" W x 44" H. Do not add overlap to the bottom if you have a window sill that your shutter will rest on.

When ordering an inside mount shutter you need to take a deduction to allow your shutter to fit inside your opening. We suggest 1/4" minimum for proper clearance. You must include this deduction in the width & height you order your shutter at. Example if your opening is 30" W x 40" H you would need to order no larger than 29 3/4" W x 39 3/4" H. More of a deduction may be needed depending on the squareness of your window.

  • Material - polyvinyl hollow core construction provides a light weight and easy to install shutter.
  • The size entered will be the size of the shutter from outside frame edge to outside frame edge. Proper deductions or additions must be made prior to entering sizes.
  • Overlap:
  • For outside mount shutters you need to add 2" to all four sides of your window opening size so the shutter goes past your window opening. If your shutter is resting on a window sill do not add to the bottom.
  • Inside Mount Shutters- You need to deduct to assure your shutter will fit inside your window opening. Recommended deduction for inside mount shutters is a minimum of 1/4" from window opening width and height. Windows out of square may need more of a deduction.

Color Disclaimer

Note: Just because products have the same color name that does not mean they are the same exact color. Also don’t mistake the color name to be what you may think that color should be. Example, just because a color may have the name Pecan, does not mean it will necessarily look like what most people would consider to be a Pecan color. Please do not order using color names as your guide, always request a sample. Please order samples of all products you wish to consider purchasing to avoid any confusion and color mistakes.

Bamboo Shades Disclaimer: Bamboo products are especially prone to color variances and we cannot be responsible for dye lot variations. If you are choosing a natural wood such as bamboo, you must accept that no two bamboo pieces are alike and they will vary. Since our Bamboo Shades are made from real bamboo wood their color and pattern can vary a great deal from a sample to the actual shade that you order. The color can vary from a mild greenish tint to a more natural brown color. The sample should be used to only get an idea of the string/ladder placement and a general feel for the products pattern.
